How To Apply Online For A Credit Card
Credit cards are simple rectangular plastic cards that are becoming one of the basic necessities to people nowadays. That is because the wonderful card is making it possible for people to purchase items and services even without outright cash at hand.
Thus, people would never worry of being robbed while on the way to the department store. They would not incur headaches from counting coins and money during and after purchase transactions.
If people do not have enough cash to buy an item, they could rely on the credit card. Thus, they could opt to repay the amount in full or in installment, so the purchase would not hurt the budget that much. So who would not want to own a credit card nowadays?
Thus, credit card issuers are among the most profitable companies currently. It is also no wonder that because almost all people are rushing to get their own credit card accounts, there are more and more companies that aim to cash in on these developments.
However, even though there are numerous credit card issuers around, some people still find it hard to apply for a credit card. It may be surprising, but sometimes, credit card firms are asking so man documents and requirements from potential clients.
Online applications for credit cards
Credit card applications can now be coursed online. Many people prefer such processes for convenience. You would also be surprised that online credit card applications are easier and faster to accomplish than the traditional process.
If you are aiming to open a credit card account online, you must be aware of several simple guidelines. Take note that online credit card applications can be easy if you would only maintain presence of mind and sheer determination to own the card.
The first step would be to find the credit card issuer that would surely accommodate your application. Not all the major credit card firms are offering online opening of credit card accounts. But you do not need to open an account with the major issuers.
Sometimes, the minor credit card companies are also offering competitive rates and services. Usually, the smaller players are also those that are aggressively rolling out online offerings and services.
After deciding on which credit card issuer you would do business with, it is advisable that you get in touch with the company. You could send an email or call the hotline phone number. It is also imperative that you check out the company’s Web site so you would be oriented with the services and products.
Do a little research on the specific credit card products and decide which one specifically suits your need and lifestyle. For example, if you are into traveling, you could opt for a credit card that has flyer points rewards system, that could ultimately earn you points that could be converted into discounts or subsidies for air travel tickets.
There are also cards specifically offered for cash advance transactions, while others are for payment installment terms. However, one setback for these credit card products is that they are incurring higher annual percentage rates, meaning the interest rates are higher compared to the normal credit cards.
Such special purpose cards are also coming up with additional charges like annual fees and special transaction charges. On the contrary, regular credit cards are usually coming with waived annual fees.
Filling out forms
After you have decided on which credit card product to take, you would be asked to fill out an online application form. Of course, you would be required to disclose the basic personal information like your name, your address, your contact details and references.
Be prepared for a credit card investigation on you. The credit card company would need to conduct a research to find out if you have existing liabilities or if you have bad records. Thus, people with bad credit histories can be traced and could be prevented from securing specific credit card products.
If you have a bad credit score, do not despair. You could still apply online for a credit card. However, cards for bad history individuals can be different. Usually, companies would only offer secured credit card products for people with problematic credit history.
Secured credit cards would require you to deposit certain amounts of money as a security in case problems occur involving your credit card. If you religiously pay credit card bills on time, eventually, you could be elevated into the regular credit card products.
See, online application for credit cards would need not be real hassles.

Tips On Credit Card Application
Different types of credit cards are widely available in the market today. But somehow, it will give you a difficult time to know each type and to find the right one. In this case, it is important that you choose the credit card which gives financial sense to you. And before filing your credit card application from various credit card companies and financial institutions, review these important tips about credit cards.
1.As much as possible, apply for a credit card having the lowest interest’s rate, although, interest rates will not significantly affect you if you are paying your monthly bills on time and at full amount. So, be a good credit card holder by paying your credit card expenses on time. This is to prevent you from acquiring future charges such as late fees.
2.Choose the best deals on the credit card APRs. Remember that 0% percent APRs is sometimes too good to be true because it is a fact that credit card companies is not making money out of it. But still, there are different ways on how to find great deals on APRs.
-A credit card that is allowing a balance transfer is good. Other credit card balances are transferred under the initial APR with lowest interest’s rates. Even if these offers are very limited, it will save you a lot of money in the future.
-Remain to be a good customer. Pay your expenses on the specified time. Also keep your balances low so that you could request for a 0% APR even for a limited period of time. Most credit card companies find it a good deal since they prioritize good clients and good business deals.
-Online shopping can help you find various companies offering 0% APRs. Study carefully all the offers by making comparisons and evaluation. Sometimes, 0% APRs is offered to the clients over a period of one year upon acquiring the credit card.
-Read the terms and conditions regarding 0% APRs. Make sure you understand it. It is important that you know the period covered by 0% APRs. It will scare you off when you find out that you are being charged of overhead expenses. Compute the amount of future interest’s rates when the trial period is over. Weigh the difference. If it is higher than what is being offered on the trial period, then think twice before pursuing your 0% APRs application.
3.Choose the credit cards which are offering various reward programs. Give yourself enough time to do a thorough research.
-Cash back reward programs enables the card holder to obtain a certain percentage on all qualified purchase back. This becomes a credit on your account.
-The point reward program enables the card holders to get points with every purchases they make using their credit cards. These points can be redeemed at a particular store, or sometimes at selected redemption stores. The type of products in exchange of your points should benefit you a lot.
4.Choose the credit card with higher credit card limit. Consider the factors such as financing fees, annual fees, introductory offers, credit requirements, availability of online banking, and others.
You will never go the wrong way if you follow these important tips. Regardless of what type of credit card you are applying for, always make a wise decision.

Credit card application declined, does that go on my credit file?
I applied for a credit card with a bank it was declined I want to go through another bank with a slightly different application
would the other bank be aware that I have recently be declined by the other bank?
Yes, every HARD inquiry( when you ask to open a credit line, the credit card company does what's called a hard Inquiry). Will show up on your record instantly and stay on for two years, but as far as them knowing any information off of the other application, they won't know, they will just know you applyed for credit at that bank.
Getting a credit card application before was a bit difficult. You would have to call a bank, go there in person, and fill up very lengthy application forms. After submitting the forms, you would have to wait for the reply.
That was the traditional way, but many people are still going through that process every time they apply for a credit card. But what if you’re a busy person who can’t take the time off away from work to make an application? That is no longer a problem nowadays because of the internet.
A much quicker way is to secure an application online. However, there are those who are unsure, and are reluctant to make an application using that modern method because of security issues. There is no need to worry because credit card applications made online is just as safe as that made in a bank.
Most of today’s banks which issues credit card applications have their very own websites. All you have to do is to make a little research on the net and find the different websites of credit card issuers.
You have to be a qualified applicant, which means that you should not possess any of the disqualifications set by the bank. There are also independent sites which offer credit card comparisons to help you in choosing the best credit card to suit your lifestyle.
Once you visit a particular site and decide to make an application, you will usually find summary boxes which contain specific details regarding the different rates, charges, fees, cash advances, balance transfers, and other important facts. Most sites have links to their conditions, terms, and company information. This makes it a lot easier and quicker to make an application online.
In securing an application online, you would have to provide the following information:
1. Your name and address
You need to provide the company with your full name, birth date and marital status. The maiden name of your mother is often asked for certain security purposes. Your address and postal code is also needed. Contact details such as an email address and telephone number are asked.
2. Employment records and home ownership
Your employment status and occupation is important to a bank, and for you to qualify for a credit card application, you should be working for 16 or more hours every week.
Credit card issuers are interested to know if you own a house or if you’re renting one. Other information that they would often ask are mortgage payments, annual income, and what specific credit cards you have at present. This is needed to check your credit history for them to determine the risk involved just in case they approve your application.
3. Other services
Online credit card applications also offer their prospective clients additional services like household, travel insurance, protection insurance, and many more.
In case you’re making a balance transfer, you would need to provide details about your previous credit card.
Once you are finished in filling up the application form online, it would only take a couple of seconds to wait for the response. In most cases, additional information is asked before you are actually given a credit card.
You have to undergo this process before the bank issues a card. Although it requires a little amount of your time, for the bank it is a big deal already because they don’t want to be at great risk upon issuing a credit card.

Getting A Credit Card Besides A Bad Credit
People with a bad credit history will find it difficult to get a new credit card. Nevertheless, they can still obtain a credit card in spite of a bad credit by following these steps.
1. Make a credit card application on small retailer stores. These companies are still willing to gamble on people with bad credit history. When they accept your application, you should purchase only on small amounts using your credit card. Pay your minimum expenses every month within the specified time. It will save you from paying higher interest’s charges. Late payments will negatively affect your credit rating. Never go over the 30-day period limit before paying.
2. Go to a bank, credit union, or savings institution where you do most of your business transactions. They have your business, so they may also give you a chance to get a particular credit card.
3. If you failed on the first and second step, then it is much better for you to choose a secured credit card. A secured credit card is requiring the holder to open a savings account and maintain it. It will serve as a security on your credit lines. Whatever amount of money you have deposited on your account, some of its percentage will be allocated to your credit lines.
4. If you owned several credit cards, reduce its number as much as possible. Inform your creditors and request them to close your credit card accounts. Immediately report this change to other credit card reporting agencies.
5. Avoid tax liens and collections, and bankruptcies. A lien means not paying the federal or state taxes, or taxes on property. Remember, bankruptcies will stay on the credit card report for a maximum of ten years. The tax liens which are already paid and collection accounts remain for seven years. Tax liens which are not paid will forever haunt you.
6. Write a request letter to your creditors asking to reduce the limits of your credits in your accounts. It will help you lower the amount of your available credits. Keep in mind that available credit amounts are still considered by issuers.
7. Ask a family member or a friend to be your co-signer on your credit card application. Select someone who has a good credit history. It will help you a lot. In case you are not able to pay the loan, your co-signer will. However, it will also affect their good credit rating.
There are available clinic on credit-repair as well agencies on consumer credit that are ready to arrange and restructure payment plans. But still, skipped and smaller payments will be always accounted against you, even if the plan was accepted by the creditor. You can be charged by these clinics as higher as 2,000 dollars for restructuring your payments and cover any administrative fees. But some CCAs can arrange it for you free of charge.
8. Always obtain the credit card report copy every year. Review for any errors done and report it immediately to the authorized body. If the remarks posted on your file are true, then make sure to write a brief letter explaining about the negative remarks written in your file. You could do this especially if you are planning to rent a home or a house.
Even if there is a solution to a bad credit history, it is still better if you build a good history credit. No hassles, no headaches, and no drawbacks.
Backed by so many histories of non-payments and other related cases, lending companies have the reason to require certain information and other things needed for the application of credit cards. Requirements must not be viewed as hindrances in acquiring a credit card but a useful tool in strengthening the bond between the creditor and the lessee.
Application is a process in which one aspirant is going to fill up certain information and questions pertaining to his identity and the like. This is viewed by companies to help them trace those people who are willing to pay for the dues they set. On that applications also will appear whether the applicant is qualified in terms of the capability to pay.
These times, there are still lending companies and banks that lets an applicant apply personally to the nearest office that they have. An applicant is interviewed by the manager of the company or any represented authorized by the company. He will be given an application form which he must complete and submit to the same.
That process is still the best way for the companies in choosing their good paying clients. However, there are also good payers that can not come personally to the offices of these lending companies. With these, lending companies and banks thought of a way; online banking and online credit card application.
Before online banking was deemed feasible, banks and other companies has been using telephone banking. However, telephone banking does not answer to the problem of some clients that are busy but are still willing to apply for credit cards.
Online application for credit cards is no different from the personal application. You are still going to be asked to fill out an application form and submit it via the internet. Online credit card application may be considered faster than the personal application with less the effort and the time wasted for traveling. Later on, you will be contacted by the company through phone.
Here are some of the requirements that are primarily asked by many lending companies:
1.Applicant’s Name, address, contact numbers (except mobile phone numbers) and other personal information that will be needed by the company. These things are normally being asked by the company to trace you if any unnecessary thing may happen. This will help the company locate you in case of non-payment.
2.Recent employment information and other information concerning job and incomes. This information is solicited from those people who are already working and already earning a salary. This is very important for the company for them to determine how feasible they are to pay a monthly bill as accorded to your annual or monthly income. Contact number in office or in the working place may also be asked by the company.
3.Student information and other information concerning an applicant who is still a student and seeking to have a student credit card. This is being asked to know whether the student is capable of paying a regular credit card or not.
4.Credit history. Some lending companies include in the application form the credit card companies that you have signed with in the past. You credit history will also be asked.
Credit card online application is so far the most convenient way of applying for a credit card. Aside from saving effort and time, you will have greater access to many benefits that are being advertised in the page.
I have credit cards already, but I am in a unique situation. I am 20 and living on my own but with my parent's income. I recently got an American Express application and when I called to ask about what I could put in the household income field, I was told I could include my parent's income. Is this true?
I do not remember on some credit apps if I put my parent's household income or not, because I was never sure and was living on my own. I have put my income as how much I regularly get a month from my parent's.
Is this borderline fraud or is this typical? No one really explains it clearly.
I would claim the amount your parents give you. Usually, credit card companies don't ask for proof of income. But if they did, you could have your parents write a letter or provide some type of information to prove you receive the funds.
CAUTION: Be careful about extending yourself too deep with all these credit cards. True, your parents are providing you the funds to pay your bills each month right now. But if they stopped for any reason– you could have some major problems.
ALSO: To the member who said you need to 'get a job' and you have no need for credit cards:
Using credit cards will help build up your credit history. Even after your parents are out of the picture, using credit cards wisely now– will be beneficial for you in the future.

Credit Card Application: Getting Your First Credit Card
Credit cards are one of the most convenient tools that you can ever use today. Besides, you would really need this tool if you want to purchase something but you don’t have the cash for it. With a credit card, you can virtually purchase the products or services you need even without carrying cash.
Credit cards are a very useful tool to manage your expenses.
However, before you apply for a credit card, you should first consider a few things in order for your first credit card application to be approved.
The first thing you should consider before applying for a credit card is your credit history. This is the most essential thing that a credit card company will look at when deciding if they should issue you a credit card or not.
If you have a bad credit history, it will be hard for you to apply for a credit card and vice versa. So, before you apply for a credit card, you should make sure that you have a good credit history in order for you to get approved for one easily.
However, if you don’t have a credit history, then you need to make a one. You can do this by taking out a small loan or through a hire-purchase agreement. After you make payments, you are now making your first credit history. Make sure you pay it off on time in order to get a good credit history and get approved for your first credit card.
If you don’t know whether you have a credit history or not, you can always apply for a copy of your credit history, by doing this, you can know if you have a good credit history or a bad credit history or if you have any credit history at all. You can apply from a credit reference agency in your area for this document.
After discovering that you have a good credit history, the next step would be deciding how much your credit card limit should be. This is usually determined by your income. And, usually your savings is also important.
Depending on your savings and your income, you can then apply for a regular credit card, a gold credit card or a platinum credit card. These types of cards vary in credit limit and also have different benefits that you can have.
Usually the higher the credit limit the higher the fees will be. However, the benefits you can get with a higher credit limit are better than regular credit cards. Two examples would be frequent credit card user money back, and discounts on purchases with credit cards.
The next step in credit card application is submitting your application form. The credit card company you chose will then review the application form, check your financial background and will also check your credit rating. They will also ask you to comply with certain conditions in order for your credit card application be approved; such as asking you to have some money on a deposit account with the company.
Sometimes, your credit card application may be rejected. You have to ask the company why your application was denied. There are usually two reasons why the company rejects an application. The first is that you failed the credit rating test and the second is that you probably filled the credit card application form all wrong.
If you failed the credit rating test, you will need to apply in another credit card company. However, if you just filled the credit card application wrong, you can still reapply with the same company. And, this time, fill up the application form correctly to avoid getting rejected again.
These are the things you should first consider when applying for a credit card. Meeting all the requirements and conditions of the credit card company will ensure you of getting your credit card application approved.
Once you are in debt, naturally you have to settle any due amount. Otherwise, you will be known by other people as an irresponsible borrower. Establishing a good credit history is very important especially if you want to make a credit card or loan application, or any application which involves money.
In today’s fast changing times, where most people want fast and easy access in almost anything, a credit card can be very useful. But how are you going to secure a credit card application if your credit rating is poor?
Different application forms have pre-established criteria. A typical example is a homeowner versus renters. Credit applications give more weight to homeowner applicants.
Other reasons why most people have poor credit rating include paying bills late, default payments, and those who have obtained judgments from the county court. Credit files are usually kept by certain organizations, and judgments or bankruptcies are filed for a maximum period of six years. If you have this kind of problem, securing any credit application would be a great problem.
Companies which issue credit cards looks into the files kept by reference credit agencies before approving or disapproving any application made by individuals. Once a person applies for a credit card, the company will instantly check with different credit agencies for their credit rating. If you’ve made a lot of credit applications and transactions, your credit report can become large, so it would be wise to ask for a copy of your credit report and check if all the items listed there are correct. If some information is incorrect, you can get supporting papers and have it changed.
If you have a bad credit rating, your credit card application will be most likely turned down, or if it is granted, you will have a low credit limit. Most of time, these people will not benefit from incentives and low interest rates enjoyed by applicants with a good credit rating. People with good ratings can enjoy an interest rate for as low as 5%, while those having a bad credit rating will be charged a rate of about 25%. You can actually see the big difference between the two cardholders.
A bad credit rating is not only given importance to a card application, but to securing loans as well. Almost any application which concerns credit will refer to your credit rating. So if you are just starting to build a credit rating, make sure that you start on the right track, and stay on that track to be able to create a good credit rating. Establishing a good credit history at an early age is an advantage, and not only that, you will learn how to be responsible in handling your expenses.
If you are badly in need of a credit card, you can check out companies which offer credit cards to people just like yourself. Although it may not be the best, you can probably find it useful in other ways. Shop around and you may be able to find one.
If you’re one of those who already have a bad rating, perhaps it is now time to make a change. It’s never too late, start paying your bills on time. Although the change happens little by little, over time it will prove to be rewarding.
